Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering is proud to celebrate the success of two of its Software Engineering students, Bhavna Kumari and Sanskar Vidyarthi, who successfully cleared Round 1 of the highly competitive TCS CodeVita Global Programming Contest - Season 13. TCS CodeVita is an annual, worldwide coding challenge that tests participants' skills in problem-solving, data structures, and algorithms. Out of thousands of global participants, only 60 students from the entire United States cleared the first round, and MAGE is thrilled that Bhavna and Sanskar were among this elite group. Their accomplishment reflects the exceptional talent within the MAGE program.

The initial round required students to solve six challenging programming problems within a six-hour window, with solutions needing to pass both public and private test cases. The competition features three rounds, with the top 25 contestants advancing to the in-person grand finale in India, where cash rewards up to $10,000 are awarded. Speaking about the challenge, Bhavna Kumari noted the intense competition, stating: "It’s a highly competitive coding challenge focused on problem-solving, data structures, and algorithms."

Sanskar Vidyarthi, who achieved a worldwide rank of 2089 in the first round, highlighted the difficulty and the virtual nature of the event, which allows for convenient participation. He shared his approach to preparing for the next stage, saying: "In Round 1, we had to solve 6 programming problems within 6 hours... The questions were quite challenging and tested our problem solving skills." MAGE congratulates both students on their impressive achievement.
