Abhishek Kathpal

 

I am a passionate Robotics Graduate Student skilled in ROS, C++, Python as well as MATLAB. I completed my bachelors in Electronics and Communication from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra in India. I have been fascinated by the technology behind robots and the interaction between sensors; this interest has always motivated me to dwell deeper into this field. I have a keen interest in areas of computer vision and motion planning which are vital for robots to move safely and effectively in an unknown environment.

 

 

The main reason I choose the University of Maryland was because it provides an opportunity to learn in a practical environment. Most of the core robotics courses are project-based, you have the flexibility to choose courses from any department, and there are many robotics labs working on different domains. UMD has one of the best research groups working in the domain of computer vision and deep learning.
