ENPM818R 3Virtualization and Container Technologies Virtualization architecture, virtual machines and hypervisors. Containers, difference between VMs and containers, creating, deploying, securing and managing applications in containers. Students will interact with VMware vSphere environment and will learn about topics such as virtual hardware, virtual networking, copying, backing up, and migrating VMs. During the lab sessions, students will create virtual machines, manage virtual machines, and install Linux OS on a virtual machines. Students will also learn using Docker or podman containers and deploy applications in those containers. Large-scale container management systems such as Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift will also be discussed and used.
