Dr. Christopher Ackermann is a Senior Management Consultant at International Business Machines (IBM). 
 
He received his Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. For eight years he worked as a research scientist at the Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering where he transferred knowledge and technologies from research to practice primarily in the context of aerospace and automotive systems. His primary research focus was on both structural and behavioral analysis of software architectures to identify and resolve quality issues, such as maintainability, performance and reliability. 
 
In addition to his research experience Dr. Ackermann has been developing software systems both in the role of software developer and technical leader for nunmerous projects and in various domains. He has focused on delivering successful software even in challenging circumstances by bringing together the members of the team and working closely with customers.
 
Currently, Dr. Ackermann is primarily focused on devising solutions that leverage advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilties and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to gain insights from unstructured data.
