Matthew Martin
Team Leader Reliability Engineering at Garmin
GCEN in Reliability
My first 2-3 years in reliability were focused on rotating equipment reliability and plant maintenance for a chemical processing facility. For the last 5+ years, I have worked in the consumer and aviation electronic design industry. My current focus is to integrate design for reliability techniques into the product development process.
Why Maryland?
Not many programs had a reliability-specific program. Maryland had the most details about the program and the best course descriptions that fit what I was trying to learn. My old manager and several reliability colleagues I found online had reliability credentials from UMD.
