Caroline Beauchemin

Engineer at Senez Consulting Inc.

M.Eng. in Fire Protection Engineering

I am a professional engineer in Quebec and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator with a background in both practical firefighting and fire protection engineering. I began my career as a municipal firefighter after earning a DEP in Professional Firefighting from IPIQ and a DEC in Technical Firefighting Studies. I later worked in fire prevention before earning a degree in Building Engineering from Concordia University. I have experience as a forensic engineer, investigating the causes of fires and explosions and conducting lab tests to support technical hypotheses. I recently graduated from UMD with a master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering and am now enrolled in an MBA program at John Molson School of Business.

Why Maryland?

I chose the University of Maryland because its master’s program in Fire Protection Engineering is internationally recognized for its academic excellence and strong industry relevance. Designed with working professionals in mind, the program's flexible and adaptable structure allowed me to continue building my career while gaining advanced, high-quality training that directly supports my goals in the field.
