GraduateRetired - PermanentTheory & Applications of Digital Signal ProcessingThe course teaches the analysis and design methods for discrete-time signals and systems, and also provides an introduction to advanced signal processing methods and applications, such as speech processing, image and video processing, and adaptive noise cancellation. Through this study the students improve their understanding of digital signal analysis and system design, and gain practical experience via various MATLAB programming exercises. Students are expected to be familiar with the continuous-time signals and systems and the associated analysis techniques, including: • Fourier transform • Laplace transform • Impulse response and frequency response for continuous-time systems • System properties, such as linearity, time-invariance, and stability • Continuous filter design techniques Students need access to MATLAB for the programming exercises through the course. Only beginner- level MATLAB knowledge is required, which includes familiarity with the MATLAB environment, writing scripts and functions in MATLAB, and array and matrix representations.Electrical & Computer
