    Schedule Adjustment

Important university policies regarding schedule adjustment

    Degree Planning

During your first semester, you will be expected to complete a preliminary course plan for their intended degree program (10-course for MEng or 4-course for GCEN) with the Senior Academic Advisor. The Degree Planning Sheet lists the core and technical elective requirements for each program, and all courses that are pre-approved for that program.

    • Course approval must be requested for alternative technical electives
    • If a student completes a course that was not approved by the MAGE Academic Advising team, it may not count towards the degree.
    • Students are expected to update their Senior Academic Advisor if any changes are made to their approved plan to ensure courses will count toward their intended degree program.

    Fulfill Remaining Admission Provisions

You will not be able to register for your second semester courses until your official transcript(s) are received. Submit the official transcripts as soon as possible to prevent a delay in being able to select your courses. A delay may cause desired courses to fill up prior to being able to register.
If you are unsure if you are required to submit your transcript, refer to your admission letter to view your provisions. Email the Graduate School at gradschool@umd.edu if you have any questions related to this requirement.

You will not be able to register for your second semester courses until your immunization records have been received. Turn in the required immunization records to the University Health Center as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding immunization, contact the University Health Center at (301) 314-8114.
